Yeah, I’m surprised by this week’s weight as well. Is it a fluke? It didn’t feel like I ate enough this week to bring me up three and a half pounds; but then, it’s not really so much how much you eat as what you eat. Also, I moved my dinnertime an hour later, putting it much closer to bedtime, which is supposed to be helpful.
I thought I might post my meals for the edification of those who are interested.
Breakfast will be biscuits, which I’ll probably be making the night before (I’m not usually up for cooking in the morning); I have a pretty basic cheese and garlic biscuits recipe (about 1000 calories for half a batch) that usually comes out pretty well to start the week, and will go for just plain biscuits with vege-sausage (about 900 calories) for the end of the week. For added calories the biscuits get made with half-and-half instead of milk. I generally also take a toaster pastry (~200 calories) on my way to work.
Planned lunch for the week will hopefully be lasagna (~800 calories), if I don’t botch it. (I find that the recipe I’ve been enjoying, and the link to the website I got it from, are on my laptop, which is still dead, and Google isn’t helping. It’s pretty basic on its own though; I’m sure I can figure it out.) Along with it, a couple of rolls (~200 calories), potato chips (~150 calories), and chocolate pudding (~150 calories), with Jumex strawberry nectar (~200 calories) to drink. I usually get fruit, but wasn’t much in the mood for it this week; the stuff they’ve been delivering me hasn’t been all that hot lately.
For dinner I get black beans and rice (~600 calories) the first half of the week, and breakfast sandwiches (cheese, egg, and vegetarian bacon on a bagel, ~1000 calories for three) the second half. For dessert, apple pie (~300 calories).
To drink I’ve been having lemonade from mix (~200–300 calories’ worth a day) since the price of soda has been getting ridiculous lately. In total, I’m looking at about 4000 calories a day, if I eat everything I plan on. I’m still not good at stuffing myself, so mostly I try to go for food that’s higher-calorie to begin with; if it doesn’t all fit on one plate I may not be able to manage. Lunch is generally the exception, as being at work tends to make me hungry.
Tune in next week to see what effect all that has!
In the meantime, here’s a generic belly photo I took this morning:
