206.

Down a couple pounds from last week, so I’m guessing it was a fluke. Still, I’m doin’ better than the week before, though it’s nowhere near likely I’ll be close to my goal for the end of the month.

I’d try and write more but I’m feelin’ like I might be comin’ down with something, so I’m gonna turn in early.

208.

Yeah, I’m surprised by this week’s weight as well. Is it a fluke? It didn’t feel like I ate enough this week to bring me up three and a half pounds; but then, it’s not really so much how much you eat as what you eat. Also, I moved my dinnertime an hour later, putting it much closer to bedtime, which is supposed to be helpful.

I thought I might post my meals for the edification of those who are interested.

Breakfast will be biscuits, which I’ll probably be making the night before (I’m not usually up for cooking in the morning); I have a pretty basic cheese and garlic biscuits recipe (about 1000 calories for half a batch) that usually comes out pretty well to start the week, and will go for just plain biscuits with vege-sausage (about 900 calories) for the end of the week. For added calories the biscuits get made with half-and-half instead of milk. I generally also take a toaster pastry (~200 calories) on my way to work.

Planned lunch for the week will hopefully be lasagna (~800 calories), if I don’t botch it. (I find that the recipe I’ve been enjoying, and the link to the website I got it from, are on my laptop, which is still dead, and Google isn’t helping. It’s pretty basic on its own though; I’m sure I can figure it out.) Along with it, a couple of rolls (~200 calories), potato chips (~150 calories), and chocolate pudding (~150 calories), with Jumex strawberry nectar (~200 calories) to drink. I usually get fruit, but wasn’t much in the mood for it this week; the stuff they’ve been delivering me hasn’t been all that hot lately.

For dinner I get black beans and rice (~600 calories) the first half of the week, and breakfast sandwiches (cheese, egg, and vegetarian bacon on a bagel, ~1000 calories for three) the second half. For dessert, apple pie (~300 calories).

To drink I’ve been having lemonade from mix (~200–300 calories’ worth a day) since the price of soda has been getting ridiculous lately. In total, I’m looking at about 4000 calories a day, if I eat everything I plan on. I’m still not good at stuffing myself, so mostly I try to go for food that’s higher-calorie to begin with; if it doesn’t all fit on one plate I may not be able to manage. Lunch is generally the exception, as being at work tends to make me hungry.

Tune in next week to see what effect all that has!

In the meantime, here’s a generic belly photo I took this morning:

Down a pound this week. I guess I was speaking prematurely when I thought eating might be getting easier for me; I wasn’t able to eat as much as I should have all week. Ah well.

I hate buying groceries. I tend to spend far too much time trying to put together an amount of food that ought to put weight on me and wrestling with the King Soopers website to get the order in. Things are getting more expensive, too, which sucks.

205.

All right, so this week I was up another two pounds for a good solid 205 on my birthday! Here’s what it looks like:

45½ inches seated

I was taking my breakfast burritos to lunch this week. They’re huge; I take a pair and I reckon they’re about 620 calories each when made to recipe; I boosted the calorie count a bit by making the gravy with half and half instead of milk.

I feel like I’ve been able to eat more these days, I think, maybe from all the food I have been eating. And my interest in food is rising as well; when I’ve been putting together my grocery order I keep being distracted by new things I want to try off Recipezaar. This week I’m trying a new kind of stuffed peppers that looks more promising than the one I’ve been using.

Well, I didn’t get close to my January goal of 210 (which probably should have been closer to 208—when I said ‘first update of February’ I meant ‘first weigh-in of February,’ forgetting this update wouldn’t get posted in January). Goal for February is 215 pounds. Can I do it? Probably not! But the goal is to aim higher than I really need so if I fall short I can still be on track for my real goal: 250 by the end of the year. And 205 now is good as far as that goes.

Some of you have noticed my videos are down. Revver, the provider that’s been hosting them, has been down for a few days; they sent a message beforehand scheduling the outage, though the length of time they’ve been down is a bit more than was scheduled. I’ll give them a couple more days to come back before I look into switching to another service (or I may just host the things myself; Dreamhost does give unlimited bandwidth after all).
