Yeah, I’m up three pounds since last week. That four thousand calories has really kept me round all week. The budget’s jumped up to 4500 for this week but I don’t think I’ll be able to keep up with that, so I’m going for 4000 again.

I don’t have much to say this week… so here’s a video of me eating dinner on Saturday — half a large pizza.

It’s disturbing sometimes how much I need to eat sometimes to gain weight… especially compared to how much I’d eat if I weren’t trying to become the fattest tiger on the block.

I’m up this week, but only just barely, so making the goal for the month is looking difficult. Still, I’ll be sticking to it, even though it means my calorie budget’s jumped up a thousand calories a day in an attempt to get me close. Four thousand’s not easy, especially if you don’t want to be doing something silly like eating cheese all day, but I think I’ll be able to do it… if I can work up the appetite for all the food I had to buy.

At the moment I’m feeling pretty round, but that might just be because I’ve been being silly and eating cheese all day.

Bah, I want my own camera working again.

So I’m down half a pound this week. I thought I was eating a bit light this week, even though I’m still feeling a bit big. I’m going to have to eat a lot the next couple of weeks to make up for it.

For a long time now I’ve been finding it hard to put together a gaining menu that:

  • …doesn’t break the bank; I’m relatively poor (but my grocery budget is about $50–$60/week),
  • …isn’t actively trying to kill me—I try to eat healthy—and
  • …doesn’t involve spending all day in the preparation or the eating—I have better ways to spend my time.

I’ve changed my usual lunch as of the start of the year for something more efficient; where I used to have rice and a vegemeat patty, lately I’ve been having a potato casserole which is also pretty cheap and basically double the calories. This week for dinner I’m having, chiefly, black beans and rice. I’m budgeted for a bit over 3000 calories a day and I should have enough to cover it. Hopefully I’ll have better progress to report by next week.

By the way, if anyone would care to contribute a reasonable menu plan to the cause, I’d much appreciate it.
